Grand Final
The grand final kicked off on Overpass, with Munkhtamir “tamir” Ganbaatar and his squad having one map advantage due to coming from the upper bracket. With the map pick advantage, Hui “DD” Wu and the boys from Wings Up were able to secure the first map regardless of being far behind in the first half.
Despite their best efforts, the Chinese team led by the ex-TYLOO member couldn’t tie things up in Vertigo. D13 shut down the comeback swiftly to pick up the map 16-13. Nuke was a different story, as Wings Up dominated in the first half. However, D13 stepped up their game on the second half and were able to shut down Wings Up’s defense after recovering from the 6-11 deficit. The final map produced the same result, with a D13 win over Wings Up, and simultaneously winning the only spot at the IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 Asia.
This win marks another appearance for D13’s at a big Asian event. The team placed as a runner-up at DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 Asia closed qualifiers. They managed to avenge their defeat against fellow Mongolian team, TIGER.
