MALAYSIA – Jonathan “BUUMZK1NG” Yap, a former Malaysian coach of the 2019 WESG Malaysia Regional Finals winners Darkhorse, has officially announced the creation of his own esports organization, NEXGA, an abbreviation for Next Generation of Aces.

“Growing up and playing a lot of football, you could always tell that Southeast Asian players had an abundance of talent as compared to players from other ethnic backgrounds. Where we always stumbled was around how professionally set up the training academies were and the investment that our governments made at grassroots levels.” Jonathan “BUUMZK1NG” Yap told CSGO2ASIA when asked about the organization’s goal moving forward.
“At NEXGA, we want to change that mindset and professionally set up our team to compete at the highest level of competition through what I call the 5R strategy—which revolves around having the right coaching methodology via [Research]. We then need to create a conducive environment [Relationships] to create a mindset for winning [Results]. We would then need to constantly develop and evolve our training methods [Repeat] before we can then give back to the community that we believe in [Return].
“We want to become the team that the upcoming generation looks at and have dreams and aspirations of being a part of this organization. We will strive to our utmost best to develop the Next Generation of Aces.” he continued.
The current roster is comprised solely of players from ASEAN countries and features six players who have been hanging around the Southeast Asian Counter-Strike for a while. Despite being formed recently, they have already emerged as one of the better teams in the Southeast Asian region and aspire to model themselves after some of Asia’s finest, such as TYLOO, Rare Atom, Team IHC, and Team NKT.
