The 40th season of CAL was relatively quiet, at least in our Southeast Asian divisions, which saw little to no activity during the month. This comes as no surprise to us; after five months of intense competition with more appealing leaderboard prizes, we’ve returned to where we were half a year ago, with cash and FACEIT points for our top achievers.
Our Indian divisions, on the other hand, have shown a great deal of promise since their inception, with high levels of activity and competitiveness that far exceed our expectations.
We have a few ideas for how to get our Southeast Asian divisions back to more healthy levels of activity for our 41st season, so stay tuned!
Grassroots VI
On Mumbai servers, we held the sixth edition of our Grassroots competition series in partnership with ZOWIE. It was really rewarding to be able to give back to such a passionate community by providing the greatest possible playing experience through FACEIT.
In total, 23 teams signed up to play Grassroots Cup VI. After a weekend of competition, COHESION emerged victors after defeating Dark Side 2-1 in maps (16-12 Dust 2, 11-16 Nuke, and 16-6 Inferno), with f1redup leading the way for COHESION with 72 kills in the final.
It was also exciting to see that our Twitch stream had 120 viewers at its peak, which was more than double the number seen during Grassroots Cup V.
Problems With The CAL Bot
We are aware of the current troubles with the CAL Bot that our league players are having. It is our top priority to resolve this, and we are working with FACEIT to restore full functionality as quickly as possible. The problems started after FACEIT made some changes to their backend, which caused synchronizing troubles for some of our players.
