We’re back with our monthly update article, where we keep you up to date on everything CAL and the state of CS:GO in Asia (hint: it’s not great). The 45th season of CAL was a slow one, with little activity across our divisions. The only active division was India Division 2.
During the first weekend of June, we held the final event in our CAL x Gamers Without Borders series, which was played on Mumbai servers. Unsurprisingly, NEXGA took first place for the third time in a row by beating KingPins in the grand final 2-0 (16-12 Inferno & 16-11 Dust2), completing the CAL x GWB trifecta. They will receive USD$500 in gift vouchers for their outstanding performance in CAL x GWB #3, bringing their CAL x GWB total to USD$1,500.
We’re curious to see if NEXGA can translate their strong play to larger tournaments in Asia!

Season 46 Of CAL!
We will not change the division structure or the prize pool for the 46th season of CAL. We believe that the current issue with activity is an unfortunate result of lower interest in CS:GO in Asia, which we’ve mentioned numerous times. As much as we would like to do everything we can to rekindle interest, we believe that players should play CS:GO because they enjoy it, not just because of the prizes.
With that said, there’s a great opportunity right now to try to start a queue in CAL, as competition for leaderboard prizes is likely to be low. Just a thought :).
