The 35th season of CAL is going live midnight 3rd of August with ZOWIE gaming monitors and cash as leaderboard prizes!
For our 35th season, we’re happy to announce that our favorite partner ZOWIE is returning as a sponsor of CAL. This means that their best-in-class gaming monitors will be back as leaderboard prizes, which hopefully excites you as much as it excites us!
When looking at data from past seasons, we can see that all key metrics improve when ZOWIE is onboard, and we expect that to stay true for this season as well. Simply put, standing a chance to win a gaming monitor from the world’s finest gaming monitor maker motivates you – and we understand why.
In tandem with the upgraded leaderboard prizes, we’re also rolling out one of the biggest additions to CAL yet.
Introducing CAL Clan
Clans is a new FACEIT feature, currently in its beta stage, meant to give players a new option when it comes to queuing regular FACEIT matchmaking. For players familiar with CAL, the look might feel similar to that of our regular soloQ divisions, but the functionalities are quite different.
All players in CAL Clan can create their own lobbies, set the skill level range of the players they want to play with, and promote their lobbies in the CAL Clan chat.
Furthermore, all lobbies will have their own chat rooms to make communication seamless. Just like in a regular FACEIT party, you also have the option to invite your friends. When a lobby has filled up, you queue and play FACEIT matchmaking.
At CSGO2ASIA, we’ve always taken a community-first approach to everything that we do. On that note, we believe that CAL Clan is a pivotal addition to our offering that will benefit our subscribers and players, particularly during times when no games are running in the CAL soloQ divisions.
To celebrate the launch, CAL Clan will run weekly leaderboards awarding the best performers with FACEIT points.

Changes To Leaderboard Prizes
For many seasons, we’ve been offering CS:GO skins as leaderboard prizes in Division 2 and Division 3. Offering CS:GO skins was a good idea in theory, but the process of getting them to the winners has proven to be cumbersome. As a result, the next season, CS:GO skins will be absent from the CAL leaderboards. Also, you will notice that we have removed FACEIT points from the main Hub leaderboards, as these will now be winnable through the Clans leaderboard.
We will also be adding a minimum requirement of ten games played to be eligible for any leaderboard prize in an attempt to combat low activity. Subscribers will still get on leaderboards after just playing one game, so we will actively communicate the new threshold through FACEIT posts and in our respective division chats to avoid confusion.
Improvements to Division 3
Another focal point for us this season is bringing activity back up in our lower divisions. Division 3 has suffered a bit in the past several seasons, mainly due to a lack of incoming new players. We have addressed this front on by bringing together a ten-man focus group with who we will be working closely to encourage matches and provide direct support & feedback.
Some other changes include additional prizes for Div 3 (that previously weren’t available) and the ability to queue with up to four party members!
A Word About Our Sponsor – ZOWIE!
ZOWIE was founded at the end of 2008. It is a brand dedicated to the development of professional esports equipment. At the time of its debut, there were only three hardworking employees and one product. As there was no “esports” back then, ZOWIE had spent a lot of time gathering, listening, and engaging with competitive gamers/players on the internet, forums, and gaming communities worldwide. That got them into the world of esports.
Fast forward to today, and the BenQ ZOWIE XL series monitors are the most popular gaming monitors to professional gamers around and adopted by world-class tournament organizers globally. It’s not because of the latest technology, or the cheapest price. It was all because of the product’s meticulous design approach, with real player’s insight, development, and testing.
