Ever since we introduced our India divisions late last year, we’ve been positively surprised by the passion and determination of the South Asian CS:GO community. But more than anything it has warmed our hearts. That’s why we’ve decided to elevate our support for our India divisions starting next season.
So what does the elevated support actually mean? The leaderboard cash prizes for both India Division 1 and India Division 2 will increase from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 respectively. Players who finish the season in 6-10 place on the leaderboard in any of our India divisions will be gifted a one-month sub. To add to that, FACEIT has kindly supported us with 100,000 FACEIT points for each of our India divisions per season.
With the new prize additions and the altered payout structure, the 100 best players in our India divisions will walk away with something at the conclusion of season 43.
A common suggestion from players in our India divisions has been to change the leaderboard prize structure so that more players will have a chance to win something each season, not just the best performers. We don’t see the changes to the payout structure this season as the final improvement, and we will continue to monitor the activity during the April season and listen to feedback to continue to make improvements for the coming seasons.
Discount Code For Subscribers!
To celebrate our improved offering, we’ve created a custom discount code that gives players 50% off on our quarterly subscription. The code is only valid in April, so make sure that you subscribe using the “CAL50” discount code to get a three-month subscription for a dollar more than a one-month subscription. The code is valid for all CAL divisions, regardless of if you play in our SEA or India divisions.
Division Splits
We’re currently conducting a survey where we’re asking our CAL subscribers about their thoughts on various metrics related to our league. Armed with their feedback, we will have a better understanding of where improvements are needed. One common suggestion from players in our India Divisions 2 is that the skill level difference between the lower and higher-rated players is too significant. Alas, their suggestion is that we split India Division 2 in two to create a new India Division 2 for people of middling FACEIT skill levels and an India Division 3 for players of lower skill levels. While this is definitely something that sounds good in theory, our past experience with splitting up divisions has shown that it’s easy to do, but hard to do well because what happens is that you cannibalize the activity by splitting up the player pool.
We will continue to monitor our current division splits and try other measures to boost activity rather than resorting to creating new divisions for now.
A Passionate Bunch
While we want CAL to rise to past activity levels again, we’re also realistic. CS:GO does not enjoy the same popularity in Asia as it once did. Opportunities to go pro are limited as we only have a few professional teams in the region. For players that are striving to test themselves and reach a level where they can get on a team and make a living playing, the outlook is bleak.
Luckily, there are still many of you out there playing the game because you truly enjoy it, not because you want to go pro. Some of you are playing in CAL, some of you are not.
We are running CAL because we’re passionate about CS:GO. It’s not a profitable venture for us. We are doing it because we believe in the community. Because we know that the Asian CS:GO community is a passionate group of people.

Minimum Games Played For Prize Eligibility
To avoid future confusion, we’d like to remind everyone that CAL prizes are only paid out if a player has played at least 10 games during the season. The rule is in place to encourage users to queue up more and combat low activity.
