BLAST Premier Middle East qualifier is now open, starting date announced

BLAST has partnered with Calyx to host the Middle East qualifier for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown. Middle Eastern and North African teams will compete for a participation prize of $25,000 and the prestige of representing the MENA region at the Spring Showdown next month.

The Dune Cup will commence from March 18-20. It is a part of BLAST Premier’s expanded Qualifier Series that takes place across 20 countries and over 5 continents. This will give teams all around the world an opportunity to compete on a global level against established elite teams and dangerous underdogs.

Utilizing a system of regional competitions accessible to more than 1500 teams via open qualifiers, the BLAST Premier Qualifying Series is set across a number of events and will directly involve 40 teams in the finals. Winners of each of these events will earn a place in the Spring Showdown along with a $25,000 participation prize for each team to invest in growing and developing their organizations. 

The winning team from each of these regional qualifying events will not only earn a spot in April’s Spring Showdown but also a chance of claiming part of the $162,500 prize pool, with the ultimate aim of progressing to the Spring Final and World Finals.

GCC and Levant & North African teams can now sign up for the qualifiers

As part of the Dune Cup, four teams will receive direct invites and will be joined by two winners from each of the GCC and Levant & North Africa Open Qualifiers (March 14-17). These eight teams will then battle it out for the prestigious spot of representing the Middle East on the global stage against the world’s best CS:GO teams at the Spring Showdown.

Teams wishing to compete are required to maintain a majority core three from their respective country and region. For GCC Qualifier, at least 3 players from the team must be either be a resident or a citizen of the GCC/allowed countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait). While for the Levant and North Africa Qualifiers, it allows players from Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.
