The 32nd season of CAL is live with cash prizes, FACEIT points, and skins up for grabs. Activity is normal, and we will begin rolling out our plans for the community events very soon!
Another Season In The Books!
CAL’s Season 31 continued on strong despite a lack of activity in Division 3. In total, 747 matches were played across all divisions, slightly lower than our average, but nothing surprising. We are aware of the on-going issues with match cancellations, players leaving on purpose and other examples of misbehavior that ruin the playing experience in CAL. Measures will be taken to curb the spread of this behavior in our hubs.
Our 32nd season is business as usual, with the same prizes up for grabs as in the last few seasons. As we previously mentioned, prize money has been adjusted to accommodate the high transfer fees we incur with bank transfers. All prizes must be claimed via PayPal, and bank transfers will only be accepted on a case by case basis.
This season we will turn our focus to Division 3 to see if we can nudge people to queue more frequently and get a healthier amount of games going. Meanwhile, we are busy speaking with Sponsors to bring more attractive prizes and opportunities for subscribers!
The Community Tournaments Are Coming!
The moment has arrived: we are finally able to confirm that our community tournaments will happen! Below is a tentative schedule for the events: June 2021, August 2021 and October 2021. Each tournament will follow our Grassroots Cup format, with a 32 team, single elimination bracket and BO3 Semi-Finals and Finals. We will reveal more details with the next seasonal CAL article. Not ideal, we know, but we hope that what we have in store for you will make the wait worth your while.
The only other thing we can reveal is that these tournaments will feature at minimum a $500 prize pool, streams for the Semi-Finals and Finals and graphics support for streamers who wish to stream the matches on their personal channels (for BO1 rounds). You will need to have at least one member on your team subscribed to CAL to participate.
