This week saw Checkmate overtook 3xpendables (ex-Bren) for the runner-up place following their victory against 3xpendables (16-14 on Train), ARAVT (16-2 on Mirage), and Born in the East (FFW). At the end of the group stage, Checkmate have won twelve matches in a row, followed by LFO (ex-Beyond), with six winning streaks under their belt.
Ranking-wise, The Black Company saw a significant drop from the top four all the way to eighth place. Nonetheless, All top twelve teams did not change from last week, meaning all of the same top twelve teams will advance to the playoffs starting from March 25-April 15.
Comparing to the last season, only QuestionMark (ex-TIGER), Checkmate, and Born in the East were able to defend their slots. Absolute Vatreni is the newest contender, consisting of Jonathan “hazard” Armanda, an ex-TEAMnxl> player, and some prominent Indonesian players left in the scene. AskingQuestion‘s victory at Lenovo Rise of Legion March 2021 would be something to note, as they were able to overcome Checkmate and The Black Company in the process.
