ESEA Season 37 Open APAC Recap Week 3 & 4 – A New Strong Contender in The House?

by Juandi

As ESEA Season 37 Open APAC enters its fifth week, CSGO2ASIA.com has prepared a concise summary of the third and fourth weeks to help you grasp and keep up with the situation on the field.

Many of the teams have already been involved in more intriguing bouts over the previous two weeks. One of the greatest surprises occurred as ARTiSAN Esports defeated Team NKT 16-10 on Overpass. They were also on the verge of defeating ZIGMA, but the Thai team could put a stop to it 16-13. Recent results from ARTiSAN have garnered considerable attention for the scene’s upcoming powerhouse team. The next step for the Iman “cara” Jeffery-led squad will be to put together a string of strong performances for the remaining group stage and playoffs, with the latter to feature best-of-three matchups.

With the exception of the ARTiSAN games, Team NKT has consistently denied its opponents breathing room. Since the second week, they have limited opponents to four rounds (vs SNRG 16-4, vs 5 GAY DADS 16-3, vs NoTeamTag 16-2, Not Even Close HK 16-1). Consistent performance across the board might propel them to the grand final if they remain committed until the league’s conclusion.

This season, Mongolian teams received less attention at the upper echelons. Only Renewal (#5) and ARAVT (#8) remain active in the top twelve rankings. Checkmate and w2c were identified as inactive teams. The former’s latest match was one month ago against ZIGMA and Renewal.

Meanwhile, some of the most intriguing matches to watch in the upcoming fifth and sixth weeks of ESEA Season 37 Open APAC are ZIGMA up against Asking Questions and Renewal on May 6 and 10, respectively.

Renewal, Mongolia’s current top-ranked squad, will also face ARTiSAN Esports on May 13. Asking Questions, a Singapore-based organization, will face four formidable opponents in the following two weeks: ARAVT, ZIGMA, ARTiSAN, and HZ. All of the upcoming matches above will be featured on our daily-updated Match Ticker.
