The departure of Chris “Pro.” Martir and co. marks the end of an era, relinquishing its crown as the strongest Filipino CS:GO squad for the last two years.
The former Bren Esports CS:GO members have announced that they have made the switch to VALORANT altogether and will be playing under the South Built Esports banner from now on. South Built Esports is an esports organization headquartered in Laguna, the Philippines. The squad will also be reunited with Patrick “Derek” Lacson, who departed from Bren Esports CS:GO earlier in February.
The switch would put them back on the same field as veteran Filipino players Kevin “dispenser” Te and Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan, as well as former teammates Riley “witz” Go and Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza, who are now playing for Bren Esports VALORANT. They are ranked 13th in Asia-Pacific and 1st in the Philippines at the moment.
ex-Bren was originally formed under the TNC Esports banner. However, the organization disbanded its CS:GO division after a two-year period. They were signed two months later by the country’s largest esports organization, Bren Esports. During their tenure under Bren, the squad was able to reach several playoffs, including 3rd-4th place finishes at both eXTREMESLAND CS:GO Asia 2019 and OMEN Challenger Series 2019, with GeForce Cup Pacific as their most notable trophy they have ever lifted.
However, early this March, the organization released the squad. The disbandment was linked up with Asian CS:GO scene’s inactivity in the past year:
“The industry has been through a series of whirlwinds in the previous year, but it remained resilient. Adaptability is a solid anchor indeed.

Our CS:GO team has been through rises and falls, but it has been a rewarding ride overall. We would like to wish the team all the best in the new path that they will be taking. Thank you so much for wearing black and yellow (jersey).”
This week also witnessed the collapse of the NG Esports organization, with the lineup remaining committed as ex-NG. Having said that, HZ and ZIGMA are the only remaining teams with organizational support in Southeast Asia.
