MSI and ESL announced the 2019 edition of the MSI Gaming Arena earlier this year with a $60,000 prize pool. The LAN event will take place at the Barclays Center in New York, USA.
Much like the 2018 edition, the tournament will be hosted at the iconic Barclays Center in New York, as part of the ESL One event that will be held between Sep 26th – 29th. Four teams from North America, Europe, CIS, and Asia will compete in New York City for the crown of MGA champions.
As a side event, the grand finals will be played prior to the ESL One New York grand finals in a single elimination BO3 bracket. A full schedule of the event can be found here.
In order to qualify for the LAN event, teams will have to traverse four regional qualifiers. The qualifiers will feature a total of eight participants each. Six from two preceding open qualifiers and two from a last-chance qualifier.
CSGO2ASIA has learned that although the organizers have titled the Asia qualifiers as ‘East Asia’, it is in fact open to all countries listed on their official portal, here. This includes countries from S.E.A, South Asia and Oceania.
There are two online open qualifiers, as well as the last chance qualifier. A total of eight teams will be determined to participate in the closed qualifiers. Only one team from the qualifiers will represent Asia at the grand finals.
