by Juandi

The Oceanic Esports League together with Hyperion Servers, will be hosting its first regional CS:GO tournament powered by Hyperion Servers’ Guam-based gaming servers, linking Asia, US West, and Oceania and featuring $10,000

Oceanic Esports League announced today that teams from Australia-New Zealand, Asia Pacific, and the United States’ West Coast will all feature in an innovative inter-regional CS:GO competition. Interested participants may register for the open qualifiers, which will kick off in December. Details of the open qualifier are still to come. Winners from open qualifiers will vie for the 10 allotted playoff spots. The 16 team double-elimination event will feature 4-6 teams per region (2 invited from each, with the others determined through qualifiers).

Guam Based Servers

Guam, the U.S. island territory in the Pacific, is located approximately equidistant to the major surrounding nations and represents both a new space for casual inter-regional gaming, as well as a level playing field for competitive regional play.

The upcoming competition is Oceanic Esports’ first foray into competitive first-person shooters, following the success of their recent Dota 2 tournaments. Also adding in their fair share is Picklebet, an esports wagering brand that aims to continuously help develop the ANZ esports scene.

CSGO2ASIA has not received any more information regarding invited teams or regional qualifiers. Interested participants from Australia-New Zealand, Asia Pacific, and the United States’ West Coast are more than welcome to register. More details about the tournament will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

This will be one of the very different concepts that an esports event organizer offer since the pandemic strike more than six months ago. It will connect online teams more than ever to “taste” other regional teams in terms of how they play, and many more.

Fans and interested participants alike can follow the Oceanic Esports League on Facebook, Twitter, and Twitch to stay up-to-date with all the news about the league’s inaugural inter-regional CS:GO tournament.
