by Ruben Backx

CSGO2ASIA is in Abu Dhabi where the PLG Grand Slam 2018 is set to start. We’ve prepared an in-depth guide to help you, viewers, at home keep up with the event – being held in the du Forum from December 13-15.

Sixteen teams from around the world have traveled to the United Arab Emirates to compete in the PLG Grand Slam 2018. The teams will fight it out for their share of the $100,000 prize pool. The event has brought some well-known names to the Middle East, featuring the likes of fnatic, G2, and HellRaisers.

Nonetheless, there certainly isn’t a lack of Asian representation at the event, with six Asian teams in attendance via both invites and qualifiers. China’s TYLOO will be looking to defend their title as the best Asian team, recently coming second at the Toyota Masters Bangkok 2018. Joining them are 5POWER ?? and BOOT-d[S] ?? , both ready to show what they’re made of. Representing the Middle East are NASR ?? , Chosen5 ??, and ShotCallers ??.

The teams have been split into the following four groups:

The GSL group stage format will kick off with best-of-one opening matches, followed by best-of-one winners’ matches, and best-of-three elimination matches. The remaining teams will get a last chance to reach the playoffs in the decider matches, which will also be best-of-three.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the best-of-three, single-elimination playoffs, which will take place in the du Forum, Abu Dhabi, and will be open to the public from Dec 14th – 15th.
