Details about the qualifying process for the Asian region
DreamHack once again returns to the Malmö Arena this August 30th — Sep 3rd. Last year’s inaugural event saw NiP winning after a 2–0 victory against Natus Vincere. The tournament will feature a prize pool of US$250,000 which will be split between the 16 attending teams. The group stage will be played from August 30th to September 1st while the two last days will feature the single-elimination playoffs in the Malmö Arena.
Similar to last year, there will be qualifiers in Europe, North America, and Asia/Oceania. In each region, the qualifying process will consist of an open and a closed bracket. Eight teams will secure spots at DH Masters Malmö via the regional qualifiers while the remaining eight teams (TBD) are by invite.
The Asia open qualifiers will run from 11th — 18th June and will be hosted by SoStronk. For Asia, two invited (TBD) teams will be joined by six total qualified teams coming from each open qualifier. Only one slot will be given for Asia after the closed qualifiers. A summary of each regional qualifier can be seen below.
