The Weibo Cup 2020 Asia Professional Championship begins May 15th. The online event features sixteen invited teams and CNY ¥320,000 up for grabs.
Announced earlier this month, The Weibo Cup 2020 will consist of sixteen invited teams in a Swiss system format, with all matches decided according to a best-of-three. Prior to the playoffs, of the 16, half will proceed to the playoffs while the other eight will be eliminated. The remaining teams will compete in a best-of-three single-elimination bracket.
The CNY ¥320,000 prize pool is the biggest we’ve seen in the region since the start of the year. Top dogs such as TYLOO and ViCi gaming will be looking to secure a win. Mongolian side TIGER, after their success at the ESL One: Road to Rio – Asia, is a strong contender for the first place, too.
