by Juandi

With the latest iteration of eXTREMESLAND CS:GO Festival 2020 set to kick off on Friday, we have put together a viewer’s guide containing a comprehensive outline of the Middle-Eastern event.

eXTREMESLAND CS:GO Festival 2020 has finally come to the last region after the Oceanic, Southeast Asian, East Asian, and South Asian region playoffs concluded. The Middle Eastern playoffs will feature eight contestants, who will face off for the prestigious eXTREMESLAND trophy and a share of the US$1,500 prize pool. The eight participants include four invited teams and the top four teams from the open qualifier that consisted of 74 teams across five Middle-Eastern countries.

In the 2019 edition of eXTREMESLAND CS:GO Asia, YaLLa Esports represented the Middle-East region, placing 9th-12th in the group stage. However, the current global health situation caused eXTREMESLAND to change the annual event’s format to an online environment, dividing the playoffs into five regional tournaments.

The invited team category features YaLLa Esports, NASR Esports, ForGlory, and Sangal Esports, with the latter currently ranked #40 in HLTV rankings after showing promising results in Snow Sweet Snow 1. The open qualifier saw BlindTappers alongside Imaginative, Corrupted, and Lets Go rounding up the playoffs list.
