HuatZai (HZ) have announced Benjamin “moxie” Kou as the fifth member of their roster. The Singaporean team, by far the best team in the country, had been incomplete since He “MAD” Chao‘s departure to After Gaming.
The 28-year-old has been without a team since December of 2020 when he left Asking Questions. Before that, during his two-year stint with B.O.O.T-dream[S]cape, moxie has been seen competing at the highest level in Southeast Asia, attending various competitions in the region. In HZ, Benjamin will also reunite with two of his former teammates in B.O.O.T-dream[S]cape, Nevin “splashke” Aw and Leslie “Bobosaur” Soen. The trio attended multiple international events together such as IEM Shanghai 2018 and eXTREMESLAND CS:GO Asia 2018, assisted the team in reaching 5th-6th and 3rd-4th place, respectively.

moxie will fill the spot that belonged to Xu “Roninbaby” Peng who left the team after a three months stint. The Chinese player was on loan with HuatZai until January 1, 2021. He “MAD” Chao replaced Roninaby, but later was acquired by After Gaming in the middle of January, ending a short 15-day trial with HZ. With moxie’s arrival, HZ will once again be back with five Singaporean players.
In an exclusive statement to CSGO2ASIA.com, moxie expressed his gratitude in joining by far the best Singaporean team and reuniting with his former teammates:
“I guess my move to HZ was quite unexpected as I had other plans for 2021 initially. But splashske gave me a call out of the blue a few weeks back and before I knew it, things were underway for my transfer from Asking Questions to HuatZai. I’d like to thank Prasad and my former teammates for making this possible. With that out of the way, I’m happy to be reunited with my former teammates splashske and bobosaur, as well as budding stars nephh and spielz. Personally, I plan to be more of a mentor to my younger teammates and achieve success for HuatZai.”
