Bart4k joins Checkmate, bench ROUX

by Juandi

Checkmate have announced the addition of Baatarkhuu “Bart4k” Batbold from w2c, who has replaced Undrakhbayar “ROUX” Zolbayar in the starting lineup.

Baatarkhuu “Bart4k” Batbold comes in as a reinforcement to the lineup shortly after the disbandment of way2champion (w2c), and the conclusion of the Hyperion x OEL CS:GO Launch tournament, in which the team placed 5th-6th. Meanwhile, Undrakhbayar “ROUX” Zolbayar will be moved to the bench position and available for transfer to other interested teams.

Bart4k is fairly a new contender in the top tier of Asian Counter-Strike. The 17-year-old initially competed in the tournament with Mazaalai in June, where he stayed for four months. Later on, after an eight-month break, he had the w2c banner on his shoulder for quite a short period.

Bart4k has been in average form recently, posting four positive K/D out of seven DreamHack Open June maps played with Checkmate. With their win in the second open qualifier, they will play HZ in the first round of the closed qualifier tomorrow. Checkmate is also presently placed sixth in the ESEA Season 37 Open APAC Group Stage, behind ARAVT and above HZ.

Contacted by CSGO2ASIA, Checkmate said that while they are fully prepared for DreamHack Open June, their ultimate goal is to win ESEA Open APAC Season 37. The top twelve teams from the group stage, which end on June 29, will advance to the playoffs.

With the addition of Bart4k, Checkmate have:

  • ?? Hurts “BestronG” Artssed (coach)
  • ?? Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat (assistant coach)
