The Thai organization previously supported amateur teams, but are hoping to break into the professional scene by signing the accomplished Singaporean IGL.
Less than a week ago Anthony “ImpressioN” Lim announced his departure from BTRG. The move came as a surprise after the team’s recent steady success, having won the WDNMD Asia Invitational 2020. Unfortunately, he made the decision to leave the team citing stress, stating that his position had “taken a toll on [his] mental, physical and emotional state.” To top it off, BTRG failed to meet contractual obligations, leaving him and his fellow teammates without pay for several months.

Nonetheless, Anthony “ImpressioN” Lim will look to replicate that success with his new project under NG Esports. With the Singaporean IGL at the helm, NG Esports plans to create Asia’s next multinational “super team”. While the rest of the lineup has yet to be announced, CSGO2ASIA understands the organization plans to house the players in Thailand, pending travel restrictions due to the global pandemic. In a live stream following the announcement, ImpressioN confirmed the team will have a coach and manager, but did not clarify any details on potential teammates. NG Esports is said to announce the rest of the team in the coming weeks.
At the time of writing, it is unclear whether his fellow teammates from BTRG are in the same boat, or if they will join him at NG Esports. However, Indonesia’s Kevin “Eeyore” Gunawan confirmed his departure from the organization shortly after ImpressioN’s announcement.
In a statement to CSGO2ASIA, ImpressioN expressed his excitement for his newest venture:
I am super excited to be able to lead the NG Esports Asian Superteam. The people that I will be able to work with will surely bring out the next level in Asian CSGO. For me to be given the chance to play with players of such high caliber, to lead them and to be able to represent a Thai organization is really an honor that words alone can not describe. I look forward to the future with NG Esports and I hope that you guys will stick with us every step of the way!
