OMEN Challenger Series 2019 – Viewers Guide

by Nikhil Hathiramani

We have put together a quick viewers guide with all the information you need regarding this weekend’s OMEN Challenger Series 2019.

Set to take place from 1st – 3rd November at the Cendrawasih Hall in the Jakarta Convention Centre, the OMEN Challenger Series 2019 features twelve teams from the APAC region.

Announced in early August, the tournament features a group stage that will divide the twelve participating teams into two groups of six teams each. In our previous update, it was stated that group stage matches would be played as best-of-one, but this has since changed.

Both groups will follow a best-of-two round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the playoffs. The playoffs will follow a best-of-three, single-elimination format with the winner walking away with the lion’s share of the $50,000 prize pool and an all-expense-paid trip to witness a global esports tournament in Europe.

Below are the groups for the OMEN Challenger Series 2019:

This weekend is packed for the Asian region, and due to scheduling conflicts, several teams have been replaced. The WESG SEA Regional Finals happening in Kuala Lumpur mean that Singapore’s BOOT and Indonesia’s BTRG are replaced with qualifier runners-up, LaZe and Syntax respectively. China’s 5POWER is due to take part in the CAC 2019 Chinese closed qualifier, also happening this weekend, and have been replaced with Quanqing “qz” Wu’s squad, Let’s Quit.

A detailed summary of the daily group match-ups and a breakdown of the US$50,000 prize pool can be seen below. All matches will be streamed on the official OMENbyHP regional facebook pages – we will update these as we have them.
