ShirleyAstre: “I am open to any offers”

Japanese organization ‘DetonatioN Gaming’ announced the departure of Taro ‘ShirleyAstre’ Yamauchi last week, CSGO2ASIA has learned. Taro, who joined DetonatioN gaming back in December 2016, is no newcomer in the Japanese CS:GO scene. He has played for various Japanese teams such as Cipangu.GO and 4dimensioN in the past.

A statement from DetonatioN Gaming released on 31st May echoed the following:

‘ShirleyAstre’ has always had a positive personality and impact on the team. We wish to express our sincere thanks to ‘ShirleyAstre’ and wish him great success in the future.”

The departure comes as Yamauchi’s contract with the team comes to a close and the 24-year old Japanese player has chosen not to renew it. In a personal blog post Yamauchi mentions that there is no animosity between DetonatioN Gaming and himself, and that he is very much “still friends with the team”. He goes on to say, “I still wish to play CS:GO and am open to any offers. I was considering to join a Chinese team but I feel that the language barrier will be an issue.”

While CS:GO is not a main esport focus in the Japanese region, the recent movement of players all across Asia means that there may just be an opportunity for Taro to seek greener pastures elsewhere.

DetonatioN Gaming now have the following CS:GO roster:
