TYLOO qualifies for ESL Pro League Season 12 finals

by Kai Lih

After sweeping ViCi in the grand finals, TYLOO will be the Asian representative for the ESL Pro League Season 12 finals.

ESL announced the ESL Pro League Season 12 finals to be held around September. However, this time, there were no open qualifiers for Asia. Instead, 7 teams were invited directly to the special qualifier. Several notable teams like TYLOO, ViCi, and BTRG featured in the three-day event.

Despite MVP PK disbanding, ESL decided not to fill up the 8th slot of the qualifier. This stirred up some controversy as many people expected TIGER to fill in the void. Because of this,TYLOO received the first-round walkover giving them an advantage in the upper-bracket.

TYLOO came out of the gate swinging, reaching the Grand Finals with relative ease. Vici had no issue as well, only losing to the eventual champions. Surprisingly, BTRG bowed out of the tournament early without winning a single map. Invictus had a decent run as well, only losing to both grand finalists of the qualifiers.

The grand final was between the two China powerhouses, TYLOO and Vici. Coming from the upper final, TYLOO had a one map advantage. Despite Vici winning the pistol in mirage, TYLOO won 11 rounds in the T half. something which Vici could not recover from. Inferno was a much closer affair. However, with an incredible performance from YuanZhang “Attacker” Sheng, TYLOO closed out the map 16-11, completing their campaign and securing the single spot for Asia at the ESL Pro League S12 finals.
