TYLOO beats ViCi Gaming in the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 Asia securing US$10,000 prize.
This year’s DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 Asia offered a $20,000 prize pool, featuring four notable teams: TYLOO, ViCi, Beyond, and Lucid Dream. TYLOO played their revised all-Chinese line-up while Lucid Dream competed with its newly announced all-Thai line-up.
Beyond was defeated 2-0 against TYLOO in the opening round, while ViCi beat Lucid Dream 2-0. The upper finals saw TYLOO beat ViCi 2-1, sending ViCi to the lower bracket finals.
It was an all-Thai derby in the lower bracket decider between Lucid Dream and Beyond. Eventually, Beyond Esports prevailed, only to fall to ViCi in the Lower Bracket finals.
Grand Finals
It looked like TYLOO were going to sweep their opponents in the grand final, going up 2-0 and reaching map and match point, but they were beaten in overtime before ViCi then pushed the match to a fourth and final map trying to reverse sweep their countrymen. Despite Andrew “kaze” Khong and his team’s best efforts, however, they fell short in the last map. TYLOO were proclaimed champions after winning the decider, and the series, 3-2.
